Greetings, good readers! Bringing you up to date, the good news is that both of my computers are working great (for a change)! The better news is that, slowly but surely, I'm getting caught up on the backlog of subscribers and ads. The best news is that life is back to some semblance of "normal."

This week an old and treasured friend came to visit from Texas, and four and a half hours flew by in what seemed minutes. What a joy to have true friends you don't see for years and then you just pick up where you left off as if it's been only a day or so. I have three friends like that, this one from Texas, one in Virginia, and one in Ohio. Blessings like these make me truly wealthy.

EPILEPSY

The following is a testimonial from an individual stating what results HE has experienced. No medical claims are implied, and we are not saying that the products discussed will cure the problems you have. (The foregoing statement is required by the US Government, which should not be a substitute for your ability and right to think for yourself and make your own decisions!)

I gave a bottle of Clark’s Colloidal Minerals to a friend who suffers from epileptic seizures frequently, even taking her medication. After taking the minerals for one month, she had no seizures. However, when she ran out for two days, she had seizures again before she could get more minerals. She says Clark’s Colloidal Minerals saved her life.

Better known as Mel, I live in Hawaii with my husband and three kids. Being a mom of three can be challenging at times, but I love seeing them grow and change with each passing day. My children are 13, 8, and 3 years old: one girl—the eldest—and two boys.

My husband is in the military. Over the past 15 years we have lived in Central Germany, Bavaria (southern Germany), Washington State, Lousianna, California, and now Hawaii. Each place has been a unique experience for our family.

I have been on the internet for the last few months looking for an opportunity to earn money while staying home with my wonderful kids. I have found one opportunity that I feel has great potential. Have a look at The Ethical Wealth Builder:

Except in the very warmest weather, you need no more than one teaspoon of salt a day. Too much refined table salt can lead to high blood pressure, overweight, and heart and circulatory problems. Instead, substitute Celtic sea salt, available from The Grain & Salt Society. It contains many beneficial nutrients and none of the detrimental aspects of regular salt. Check it out at:

By the way, your elf has absolutely no interest in the company, but we've used Celtic sea salt for years.

WATCH WHAT THE POOR PEOPLE DO—AND THEN DON'T DO IT!
PART I

Humorous, maybe. But true. Just watch what they do. Most are couch potatoes. Give most of them their beer, their cigarettes, some junk food, a big color trash tube, a VCR, a comfortable couch, and they really don't give a hoot who's in the White House or any other house.

Contentment is one thing. Complacency is quite another. The difference? Contentment is being adaptable enough to adjust with a good attitude to one's circumstances, be they prosperous or not. Complacency is the state of being self satisfied, with the implication of having no ambition to improve one's lot.

Here are the first SEVEN SIMPLE KEYS TO SUCCESS, which tell you to be a loser—

Key #1—Lose the tube!
Key #2—Lose the rented movies!
Key #3—Lose the beer and cigarettes!
Key #4—Lose the junk food!
Key #5—Lose the couch!
Key #6—Lose the complacency!
Key #7—Lose the negative "can't"!

A few comments on the keys to losing: Just like anything else, the key to getting rid of negatives is to replace them with positives, as with an empty glass, when it is filled with liquid is no longer empty (negative).

What do Keys #1 through #5 consume? Time! So fill that time with positive replacements. For instance, replace the tube and rented movies with books—personal development books, biographies of people you admire, and anything else positive. Replace the beer and cigarettes and junk food with fresh fruits, nuts, herbal teas, lemonade, and fresh juices. Replace the couch with a bicycle or a walk in the woods.

You should not even consider trying to develop Keys #6 and #7 (which require an attitude adjustment) until you've made great strides with Keys #1 through #5. People who don't read—but can—are smug and truly believe that they know everything that it is necessary or required for them to know to get by in this life. But if you wish to do more than just get by, you need to read—and read every day. And you need to read things that will inspire and motivate you, not the newspapers or the tabloids or racing forms or shallow magazines.

And next time you shop, add the fresh fruits, nuts, herbal teas, lemonade, and juices (or things to make juices from) to your cart FIRST. Then you won't be so tempted to fill it up with the junk—especially if your budget is limited.

And—before you settle down for a plop on the couch, strip down and take a good look in a full length mirror. If you are not pleased with what you see, put on some comfortable walking or biking clothes and shoes and get some fresh air for a change. Even if it's only for fifteen minutes, you'll rev up your metabolism—and if you do fifteen minutes every day, you'll get yourself in the habit, and you'll start feeling so well and fit that you'll naturally do more. And when you finally do plop down, you'll feel a whole lot better about yourself and enjoy life a heap more.

Finally, as you sink down into the couch, resist the urge to reach for the remote and reach instead for that motivational book or article.

By now, you should start to feel practically virginal and angelic! Well, maybe that's a little too much, but I guarantee you will feel better, physically, mentally, emotionally, and eventually, spiritually. Not bad for a loser, huh?

. . . to be continued next week ...

A BIBLE RIDDLE

Adam, Eve, and Jesus have something in common that NO ONE ELSE does. WHAT?

ANSWER: Adam and Eve and Jesus did NOT have human or earthly fathers.

When in doubt, don't say it!

TODAY'S CHUCKLE

A REAL LONER

Bosses of a publishing firm are trying to work out why no one noticed that one of their employees had been sitting dead at his desk for FIVE DAYS before anyone asked if he was feeling okay. George Turklebaum, 51, who had been employed as a proof-reader at a New York firm for 30 years, had a heart attack in the open-plan office he shared with 23 other workers.

He quietly passed away on Monday, but nobody noticed until Saturday morning when an office cleaner asked why he was still working during the weekend.

His boss, Elliot Wachiaski, said "George was always the first guy in each morning and the last to leave at night, so no one found it unusual that he was in the same position all that time and didn't say anything. He was always absorbed in his work and kept much to himself."

A post mortem examination revealed that he had been dead for five days after suffering a coronary.

Ironically, George was proofreading manuscripts of medical textbooks when he died.

Faith without works (action) is as useless as
a screendoor on a submarine!

TODAY'S ENGLISH LESSON

Seeing the same elementary mistakes over and over again has prompted this publisher to write an English lesson each issue.

This one pops up with increasing frequency.

"Lose" or "loose"?

I know, I know, I've written about this before, but some people just don't get it.

Listen now: "Lose" is to misplace something. "Loose" is when something needs to be tightened.

This is a simplistic explanation, but if you remember just these two definitions, you shouldn't have any trouble remembering the difference in the future.

Reminder: We offer a reasonably priced editing/proofreading service for articles or even entire ezines. Just email: editingservice@elfexpressionsezine.com

MARKETING MANIA

Solo Ads and Their Place in a Publisher's Newsletter.

Featuring Donna Sweat, weekly columnist, and publisher of Dee's Helpful Info. and A Real Home Business Newsletter.

Are you overwhelmed with Solo Ads?

Do you open your e-mail box and find a ton of them? . . . from the same newsletter?

And do you hit "DELETE" and find the urge to unsubscribe? I'll wager that most do, but do you realize what you might have deleted may be a gold mine?

WHY?

Solo ads are PAID ADS and I might add, usually not pennies, but big bucks to have the ad run alone in a mailing. These advertisers support the newsletter.

People are realizing that paid advertising is bringing in the customers and potential buyers. And if the program wasn't showing some kind of potential, they wouldn't be spending hard earned money to do this.

There is nothing wrong with free advertising, but most free ads are mixed in with many others, and unless you can write good ad copy that stands out and makes the potential customer want to click your link, your ad is lost in the sea of other ads.

Some publishers do their best to get their readers to read solo ads by offering a free ad or running a contest of some sort.

And publishers are under strict rules and regulations in solo ad programs to make sure the ads are run within a reasonable time period.

So the next time you think about deleting a solo ad, maybe it is time to just take a look. After all, if you delete the ad or unsubscribe, think of all the information you threw out the window because you couldn't control your frustrations. Now that's not being a business professional, is it?

POSTING TO CLASSIFIED ADS
by Christian Whiting

There are 1,000's of free classified ad site on the internet. When posting your classified ad it will be competing fiercely with thousands of other ads for the surfer's attention. Your classified advertising program must be totally unique but very practical and highly effective.

Your main objective when posting to classified ad sites is to grab the surfer's attention and then getting them to request more information. You are not trying to make a sale from one little ad. You want the surfer to be curious enough to request more information. Then you can deliver your sales letter, website, or information.

The Ad Title

The title of your ad may be the only thing between you and your surfer. A powerful ad title must be eye catching. Make your title is no more than 32 characters. Use the 13 most powerful marketing words in your title as much as possible. Research has shown these words get a much better response from readers, which means more people will request your information or click through to your site.

Use these power words in your title and throughout your ad text when possible. These words are: You, Save, Results, Health, Love, Proven, Money, New, Easy, Safety, Discovery, Guaranteed, Free.

You should use these following extra power words when possible: info, information, news, intelligence, report, and bulletin to add sizzle to the ad copy.

Asking a leading question in your ad title can catch the surfer’s attention fast. "Are your really making any money online?"

These leading questions pique the reader's curiosity and will help to create a desire in your reader for more information. Testing different ad titles is important to see which ones get the best response from your ads. Once you find a title that works, use it. You can't argue with success.

The Ad Message

Once you have the surfer's attention, you have jumped over the greatest hurdle. Now when your potential customer has clicked on your link, your ad message should guide him to take action and either send for more information, visit your site, sign up, or buy your product.

Talk to your potential customer as if you are face to face with him. Use key words to explain the benefits of your product or service. Stick to basic simple terms that are easy to understand. Remember, your customer may not always be as knowledgeable about your product as you might think.

Double-check your ad message before posting it. Use keywords to track your ads so you can monitor the ad results. Check your ad listings and post often enough to stay high in the listings, but don't overdo it.

Responses

Use your autoresponder to instantly take care of the responses for you. Place a link to your main site in your message if you want the surfer to go to your site. You can post your ads on thousands of classified websites. You will have an option to place them for free or pay to have your ad listed. This decision is yours to make.

As long as you have a eye-catching title and ad message that is well written, you can expect good results from a well planned out classified marketing campaign.

INSPIRATION

THE LIVING BIBLE

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very bright.

He became a Christian while attending college. Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students, but are not sure how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started, and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed, and he can't find a seat.

By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before!)

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick. About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A Godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do. How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget."

May God bless us all!
