Hi, and welcome all readers and new subscribers . . . just a note to tell you how much I appreciate all the kindnesses shown by the many ezine publishers who responded to my plea for help in choosing another list server when mine malfunctioned majorly. Thanks to all, especially to Vern Anderson, who not only installed my new server, but sat up late with me Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, actually) hand feeding my subscriber list into the new server. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Vern, you need to get to know him. He is one of the best—a king among men, as another publisher referred to him. He is one of the most unselfish people I know. Do yourself a favor and subscribe to his ezine at: subscribe@vernsnews.com

ARTHRITIS

The following is a testimonial from an individual stating what results SHE has experienced. No medical claims are implied, and we are not saying that the products discussed will cure the problems you have. (The foregoing statement is required by the US Government, which should not be a substitute for your ability and right to think for yourself and make your own decisions!)

I will be forever grateful to Margorie Morgan for introducing me to Clark’s Colloidal Minerals. I must admit, I did not believe a lot of the stories I had heard but decided to give it a try. Even with the hormones I was taking, I was still having problems with "hot flashes" and night sweats. The first improvement I noticed was that all at once I realized the "hot flashes" and night sweats had stopped.

But my major problem is from arthritis and very bad knees. After several years of losing my range of motion in both knees, the doctor was considering therapy. Around the same time that I started on the minerals, I started on a stationary bike to help with my knees—but the minerals were an every day thing and the bike was maybe 5 minutes a day, 3 days a week. After being on the minerals about 3 months, I had a follow-up with the doctor. Not only had my range of motion improved but my over-all pain was less. I still have bad days, but I know they would be much worse without the minerals.

FEATURE ARTICLE

HELP MAKE OUR LIVES EASIER—PLEASE!

After a year of publishing online, I have several suggestions for readers who advertise regularly in ezines.

First, I know that most of you probably haven't a clue as to everything that goes into publishing a regular newsletter. Text newsletters are easier than HTML ones, but basically, they both take a LOT of work and dedication.

That said, here are one publisher's suggestions.

To start off with, when you subscribe, please furnish both your first and last names. They don't necessarily have to be your REAL names, but it makes our job of processing subscribers a lot easier to have some solid references, other than your email address.

And the same thing goes when you unsubscribe—be kind enough to furnish your full name and the email address that you wish to unsubscribe. If you just send in an unsubscribe request and are using another email address to do that, your subscription email address will NOT be unsubscribed. Then you get frustrated, and we haven't a clue as to why.

In fact, it is a good policy to furnish both your first and last names and your subscription email address whenever you contact a publisher so that there is no question.

And when you submit ads, it is IMPERATIVE that you furnish your full name and your subscription email address. That way, we don't end up spending precious time searching for who you are, as most of us require that you be subscribed in order to place free ads. If we can do this quickly, so much the better.

While we're talking about ads, please don't include "mailto" in front of the email address in your ad. Many of us use plain text editors to compose our ezines, and the "mailto" becomes superfluous and has to be deleted in most cases when we make them clickable.

Another thing: DO single space your ads. DON'T double or triple space them. To do so requires us to delete the extra spaces. We all have our own methods of formatting the ads, so please leave this up to us. Most of us DO know what we're doing!

Also, PLEASE proofread your ads before you hit SEND. Space after commas, NO space before exclamation points, check your capitalization and spelling.

Finally, keep track of your ads, be considerate, and do not send in more than one ad a week to the same publisher. Free ads back up very quickly and cause more problems than you can imagine when they get out of hand.

Help us keep going and sending out all your freebies by cooperating as much as you can. Thank you!!!

A BIBLE RIDDLE

In the Book of Romans there are three things by which one can be justified. Do you know what they are?

ANSWER: (1) His grace, as found in Romans 3:24, "Being justified freely by his grace . . ." (2) Our faith, as found in Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith . . ." (3) Jesus' blood, as found in Romans 5:9, "Much more then, being now justified by his blood . . ."

I believe . . . that every human mind feels pleasure
in doing good to another.

—Thomas Jefferson

TODAY'S CHUCKLE

The preacher was wired for sound with a lapel mike, and as he preached, he moved briskly about the platform, jerking the mike cord as he went. Then he moved to one side, getting wound up in the cord and nearly tripping before jerking it again. After several circles and jerks, a little girl in the third pew leaned toward her mother and whispered, "If he gets loose, will he hurt us?"

The ideals which have always shone before me
and filled me with the joy of living are
goodness, beauty and truth.

—Albert Einstein

TODAY'S ENGLISH LESSON

Seeing the same elementary mistakes over and over again has prompted this publisher to write an English lesson each issue.

When to use "who" or "that."

Use "who" when referring to people.

Use "that" when referring to things other than people.

Reminder: We offer a reasonably priced editing/proofreading service for articles or even entire ezines. Just email: editingservice@elfexpressionsezine.com

MARKETING MANIA

Being Kind and Courteous Goes A Long Way!

Featuring Donna Sweat, weekly columnist, and publisher of Dee's Helpful Info. and A Real Home Business Newsletter.

Have you been kind today? Granted, it isn't everyone's nature to be nice. Some are just naturally crabby and rude . . . perhaps this is why they have no friends. You may be thinking I am a lunatic for saying this, but it is the truth.

We have a neighbor who never speaks to us, and he lives about 300 feet from us. We live in a rural area of Pennsylvania and really not so far from a booming small city. Most of the business establishments employ very kind and courteous people from our area. But there are the special few who throw a sale right out the door, because they were rude or unfriendly to the customer.

If you think about this, the exact same practice at home sends a perfectly serene family atmosphere into discontented spouses and siblings. The Internet is exactly the same as the home or a business. It involves real, live, human people who have feelings and are subject to verbal abuse every day.

Making friends online is just as important as it is offline. These friends can develop into business partners and long time relationships . . . and perhaps even an income. With this said . . . always be courteous when you write emails.

Use a subject line that fits the message . . . never leave it empty. It is not only rude, but it may never be opened because of the threat of viruses.

Be careful of your use of language. Perhaps someone has sent you an email full of rude and obscene language. Try to keep your cool when you respond with a calm, cool, collected, and nice attitude.

Do not use all caps . . . this is also considered rude and loud. Use the proper opening . . . Hello or Good Morning and a name if you have one to match . . . spelled properly, of course. And a proper sign-off, such as Sincerely or Regards.

Showing kindness in your emails often tames the tiger down to a kitten, and then you both can deal with the problem without the exchange of hurtful feelings.

SUBSCRIBE AND UNSUBSCRIBE IN A SHORT PERIOD
by Vern Anderson

For months I have been wondering daily why someone would go to the trouble to subscribe to a newsletter and then unsubscribe a few hours later.

I guess this shows how bright I am not. Well, today as I was subscribing people and watching when a few hours later I would get the unsubscribe email, it hit me like a Mack truck.

I could be totally off base here like I have been so many other times, but I think I've figured it out.

These people are looking for freebies. If an ezine is offering free things for subscribing, then they subscribe long enough to get the download details.

As soon as they get all of your freebies they un- subscribe, because they never wanted your newsletter in the first place.

Is it just me or are the people on this earth getting more rotten as the years go by?

The days of helping each other seem to be gone for a lot of people. Now the attitude is, get them before they get you.

It makes my heart hurt seeing the things that are happening today.

I guess September eleventh showed what is in the mind of too many today.

God help us all!

Wishing You Complete Success!

INSPIRATION

If someone had a gun held in front of your face and asked you if you believed in God, what would you do? Say no and feel ashamed the rest of your life? Or say yes, I do, and die standing up for God? If you'd say no, then don't read the rest of this.

If you would say yes and stand up for Jesus Christ, you'll love this true article, which was printed in a southern newspaper less than a year ago.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH BEFORE READING THIS.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

There was an atheist couple who had a child. The couple never told their daughter anything about the Lord. One night when the little girl was five years old, the parents fought with each other and the dad shot the mom, right in front of the child. Then the dad shot himself. The little girl watched it all. She then was sent to a foster home.

The foster mother was a Christian and took the child to church. On the first day of Sunday School, the foster mother told the teacher that the girl had never heard of Jesus and to have patience with her. The teacher held up a picture of Jesus and said, "Does anyone know who this is?" The little girl said, "I do—that's the man who was holding me the night my parents died."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

If you believe this little girl was telling the truth that, even though she had never heard of Jesus, he still held her the night her parents died, then you will share this with as many people as you can. Or you can forget it as if it had never touched your heart.
