Volume 7 - Issue 46 - December 18, 2007
Published every Tuesday

Season's greetings to all! And before I forget, there will be no more issues of 'elf Expressions until January 8, because both Christmas and New Year's Day fall on Tuesdays this time around. So this is our last issue for 2007 . . .

Be sure to read the "Healthier You" section. I've put the "addition/subtraction" lifestyle series on hold to publish this week's appalling report, so don't miss it, especially if you have small children or grandchildren.

I had not yet decided what to write for the feature article today, when someone sent me what I decided to publish in that spot instead. It's much more important than anything that I could dream up! Please read it and heed it!

I pray that all of you have a wonderfully Merry Christmas and the most prosperous and happiest 2008 you can imagine!

Idiot Proof Cash Cow

I know you're not gonna believe this, but there really is an "idiot proof" cash cow. People of all walks of life and ages are experiencing unheard of success with this no-brainer. These are just a few examples:

An 80-year-old woman took in $5,000 in eight days.

A 32-year-old poultry farm worker took in $16,000 his first three weeks.

A couple in Nevada took in $96,200 in 53 days.

Another woman took in $138,950 in 66 days.

They did this through a totally automated system without making cold calls or doing things that 98% of us hate to do. I have partnered with the team of millionaires who developed this system.

I say, if an 80-year-old could do $5,000 in 8 days, there is no reason on God's green earth why the rest of us couldn't either.

http://snipurl.com/1uvw9

"P.S. The reason you see this so often is . . . it works!

The ad contest is being carried over to the next available issue, which looks as if it's going to be some time in January, because several people have paid for this slot.

A Healthier You

Vaccination Before Christmas
with help from Clement C. Moore and Rima E. Laibow, M.D.

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, they all were too soused
With toxic compoents of deadly vaccines.
To control populations these are excellent means.

The children are nestled all snug in their beds
While vapors of mercury damaged their heads.
The doc in his smock and the nurse in her cap
Were newly empowered to inject kids with more crap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the journal I flew like a flash,
Tore open the wrapper and scanned tables of trash.

The print on the paper, all glossy and bright,
Gave the luster of science to the drug company hype.
When what to my wondering eyes should be seen
But a company study on how safe are vaccines.

With a famous first author, so very renowned,
I was totally convinced because his name I found.
More soothing than opera, more comfort I gained,
And he skewed all the data, and called them by name:

"Now, Measles! Now Tetanus! Now Pertussus and Meningitis!
On Mumps! On Human Papilloma! On Reubella, On Hepatitis!
To the top of the charts, to the top of the census
Now vaccinate! vaccinate! vaccinate all! must be the consensus!"

As dry tears before the autism behavioral spectrum fly,
When a parent's tears are all shed, no tears left to cry.
When doctors mislead, because they are misled,
And lives are destroyed because neurons are dead,
Not from dangers unknown, but from profits protected,
And rights trampled down and freedom neglected.

As I shook off the "pseudo" that enwrapped the junk "science,"
I did some clear thinking about the logic's defiance
The great man's first authorship was "science for hire."
His reputation was tarnished: the great man was a liar.

A bundle of vaccines he had flung on his back,
He looked like a snake oil salesman just opening his pack.
His eyes, how they twinkled! If every one takes them,
Vaccines are a money machine—if you make them!

Of course, there are problems of autism and death.
Just deny all the science, tell parents they're crazy,
        and then hold your breath;
'Cause the propaganda machine is working just right,
And the lobbying money gleams bright in the night;

New Jersey, the home of Corporate Merck,
Has a commissioner who'll sign, while smirking a smirk
Clever elf, the commissioner, knows he's not staying
After December. Just who will be paying?

A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head,
His kid's not autistic: He's got nothing to dread!
He said for the good of all moms who work,
He wants them injected with products by Merck,

And laying a finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the corporate ladder he rose.
He finished his job, to his team gave a whistle,
And the spent needles flew like a poisonous thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he took year-end flight,
"Vaccinations to All, Autism's all right!"

If you think this poem is just a joke, ask yourself why, then, do medical doctors refuse to vaccinate their own children or themselves?!

Letter from Ron Paul

December 17, 2007

What a day! I am humbled and inspired, grateful and thrilled for this vast outpouring of support.

On just one day, in honor of the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the new American revolutionaries brought in $6.04 million, another one-day record. The average donation was $102; we had 58,407 individual contributors, of whom an astounding 24,915 were first-time donors. And it was an entirely voluntary, self-organized, decentralized, independent effort on the internet. Must be the "spammers" I keep hearing about!

The establishment is baffled and worried, and well they should be. They keep asking me who runs our internet fundraising and controls our volunteers. To these top-down central planners, a spontaneous order like our movement is science-fiction. But you and I know it's real: as real as the American people's yearning for freedom, peace, and prosperity, as real as all the men and women who have sacrificed for our ideals, in the past and today.

And how neat to see celebrations all across the world, with Tea Parties from France to New Zealand. This is how we can spread the ideals of our country, through voluntary emulation, not bombs and bribes. Of course, there were hundreds in America.

As I dropped in on a cheering, laughing crowd of about 600 near my home in Freeport, Texas, I noted that they call us "angry." Well, we are the happiest, most optimistic "angry" movement ever, and the most diverse. What unites us is a love of liberty, and a determination to fix what is wrong with our country, from the Fed to the IRS, from warfare to welfare. But otherwise we are a big tent.

Said the local newspaper (http://tinyurl.com/ys6qgx): "The elderly sat with teens barely old enough to vote. The faces were black, Hispanic, Asian and white. There was no fear in their voices as they spoke boldly with each other about the way the country should be. Held close like a deeply held secret, Paul has brought them out of the disconnect they feel between what they know to be true and where the country has been led."

Thanks also to the 500 or so who braved the blizzard in Boston to go to Faneuil Hall. My son Rand told me what a great time he had with you.

A few mornings ago on LewRockwell.com, I saw a YouTube of a 14-year-old boy that summed up our whole movement for me. This well-spoken young man, who could have passed in knowledge for a college graduate, told how he heard our ideas being denounced. So he decided to Google. He read some of my speeches, and thought, these make sense. Then he studied US foreign policy of recent years, and came to the conclusion that we are right. So he persuaded his father to drop Rudy Giuliani and join our movement.

All over America, all over the world, we are inspiring real change. With the wars and the spying, the spending and the taxing, the inflation and the credit crisis, our ideas have never been more needed. Please help me spread them https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate in all 50 states.

Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less.

Sincerely,
Ron

Kids in Church

One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets, as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

***************

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

***************

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.

"If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'"

Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"

***************

A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand.

"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to heaven," the Dad replied. The boy thought a moment and then asked, "Why did God throw him back down?"

Use empty toilet paper rolls to store appliance cords. It keeps them neat, and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

Today's English Lesson

Seeing the same elementary mistakes over and over again has prompted this publisher to write an English lesson each issue. Look for some of these lessons to be repeated, because the mistakes are!

This one involves mistakes in pronunciation and usage with the articles, "a," "an," and "the."

First, more and more I am hearing people say, for example, "a argument," when they should be saying "an argument." The rule is that "an" is always used when the next word begins with a vowel. Say it out loud and see what I mean. It's a whole lot easier to say "an argument" than it is to say "a argument." This usage also carries through in the written word.

And then, there is the wrong pronunciation of "the," i.e., whether it is pronounced "thuh" (as in duh!) or "thee." The rule is that the word is always pronounced "thee" when it precedes a word beginning with a vowel. Again, say it out loud and see how it sounds. It's a whole lot easier to say "the (thee) end" than it is to say "the (thuh) end." Fortunately, this misusage affects only the spoken word!

Getting a Job Writing Website Content—10 S.E.O.
Tips for Creating a Sample Web Page
by Kathy Will

I have found my dream job. I am not going to get rich, but I can stay at home and always be available for my children. I write website content and do search engine optimization (S.E.O.) for a law firm.

To get the job, I had to send in a sample web page. I did not see the other applicants' pages, but I think mine looked far different than theirs. Mine had notes within red brackets throughout explaining what I had done and why. Here are 10 S.E.O. tips that could help you write a killer sample web page:

How Many of These Ridiculous "Disorders" Do Y-O-U Suffer From?
by Christopher Kent, D.C., J.D.

An article titled "Retail Therapy1" caught my attention. It described the results of a study where "compulsive shoppers" were treated with either the drug Citalopram or a placebo. The lead researcher was thrilled with the results, "Patients said to me: 'I go to the shopping mall with my friends and I don't buy anything.'" Well, this patient at least bought something—the notion that excessive shopping is a disease to be treated with medication.

What constitutes excessive shopping? The article states that one of the subjects "owned 55 cameras." I once collected cameras. Perhaps that makes me a "victim" of this disease. By the way, the treatment came with a price—"some side effects, which include loss of sexual desire and sleepiness." The study further admits, "It is not known why Citalopram is effective for treating compulsive shoppers."

With big pharma seeking new markets for existing drugs, and developing drugs in search of diseases, it is not surprising that many of life's challenges are no longer considered legitimate components of the human experience, but are now medical conditions amenable to treatment.

The Definition of a Medicalized Society

Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary 2 defines "medicalize" as follows: "To handle or accept as deserving of or appropriate for medical treatment."

Sato3 offers a more specific definition for medicalization: "A process or a tendency whereby the phenomena which had belonged to other fields like education, law, religion, and so on have been redefined as medical phenomena." [emphasis added]

Examples abound in psychiatry's code book for psychiatric disorders and "conditions or problems . . . which may be a focus of clinical attention and require appropriate coding . . ." This remarkable tome is DSM-IV4. DSM-1 was first published in 1952, titled Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

My journey into DSM-IV made me think I had fallen into Alice’s rabbit hole.

Normal Human Experience Now Masqueraded as "Disorders"

Do you have difficulty sleeping after drinking coffee? The problem isn't a product of your poor judgment in guzzling java immediately before retiring. You are a victim of 292.89—Caffeine-Induced Sleep Disorder F15.8. If you reflect on your shyness while tossing and turning, the problem could be the epidemic of 300.23—Social Phobia F40.1. Don't worry. Drug treatment is available.

Unfortunately, if you're thinking about your place in the cosmos or spiritual issues, you've got V62.89—Religious or Spiritual Problem Z71.8, and I couldn't locate a drug for that.

Bad parenting is about to become a thing of the past. It's not your fault or your child's fault. Besides the ubiquitous pandemic of A.D.H.D, there are other disorders you may not be aware of.

Your ill-behaving child may be suffering from 313.81—Oppositional Defiant Disorder F91.3. If your child often argues with adults, loses his temper, deliberately annoys people, etc., you’re dealing with O.D.D. Of course, this must be differentiated from 312.8—Conduct Disorder F91.8, and 312.9—Disruptive Behavior Disorder Not Otherwise Specified F91.9.

Should the problem be getting along with a brother or sister, the condition is V61.8—Sibling Relational Problem F93.3. And should you argue with your spouse about whether the child should be grounded or drugged, you might be looking down the barrel of V61.1—Partner Relational Problem Z63.0.

If math homework is a challenge, be sure to check for 315.1—Mathematics Disorder F81.2. You must be careful not to confuse this with a V62.3—Academic Problem Z55.8. If things are okay in the math department, but you have a teen experiencing uncertainty about life goals, career preferences, values, loyalties, etc., you're dealing with 313.82 Identity Problem F93.8. This has been downgraded from a "disorder" in DSM-III-R, to a mere "problem" in DSM-IV. I'll bet that makes you feel better.

A Pill for Every Issue You Don't Want to Face

A plethora of sexual issues are described as "disorders." We are all familiar with Bob Dole making E.D. a household word, with the blue pill offering a solution. But that's just the tip of the, um, iceberg. If the target of your libidinal interest is ignoring you, the problem may be 302.71 Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder F52.2.

Lest anyone be offended, I will not address the other disorders codified in Chapter 20. Simply be happy that there are solutions that do not require you to address issues in your relationship.

Men can obtain testosterone cream if a doctor determines that it's "right for you." The stuff is said to work well. According to an ad in JAMA5, "Sexual enjoyment and satisfaction with . . . duration were improved vs. baseline, but these improvements were not significant compared to placebo." The ad shows a couple dancing, a couple riding a motorcycle, and two pictures of men swinging golf clubs (alone) and smiling.

Perhaps the next version of D.S.M. will have a category for "golf disorders."
